At CFHV, we hear it all the time.

We are talking to our friends or family about the WODs that we do, or explaining to them that we hit a new personal best on our Clean & Jerk, how exciting the atmosphere is in the box, only to hear them say “I wish I was in good enough shape to try CrossFit!”

The reality is this statement couldn’t be any further from the truth.

EVERYONE is in good enough shape to do CrossFit, they just aren’t aware of it yet because they fear taking that leap, or they fear what others may think.

I know of at least three people who’ve told me, quite sincerely, that they train at a Globo gym just to “get in shape to do CrossFit”.

This couldn’t be further from the truth: You don’t get fit to prepare for CrossFit; you get fit by coming to CrossFit!

As our members know, we have people of every fitness level, and they all kick ass just as much as the fittest in the box! CrossFit is a program suited for everyone. At our box, our members know that we always have several different levels available for each workout we undertake.

These levels allow people of every fitness level to take part and ensure everyone gets a great workout.

Equally, it means you can feel comfortable in the knowledge that you don’t have to keep up with everyone else. Remember, above all it is you against the person you were yesterday. Don’t get caught up in trying to get yourself ready for the new adventure in fear of what others may think.

So, the next time you feel like you need to start hitting the gym to prepare for our CrossFit classes, just remember that there is someone already in that class working on their goals and overcoming those same fears.
