The biggest buzz word and marketing tool in the fitness industry. We all want, or have wanted to at some point, lose a little fat and get a little more toned.

I can’t go more than two or three seconds on Facebook or Instagram without seeing the next get fit, lose fat in 5 minutes product being advertised.

So much so that it becomes difficult to know what to believe, and even harder to know what to trust.

So, here are 5 reasons how we at CrossFit Hutt Valley help people lose fat.

There is no way you’re going to be successful in achieving your goal to lose fat if you’re injured.

That’s why we take a great deal of care and time in training our coaches to ensure you receive the best possible instruction during a workout. This relates not only to the technique required to perform a movement but to the appropriate pace you should follow during a workout.


The most important aspect of a training program, is that you enjoy it and want to come back for more.

A program being fun is the easiest and most effective way to ensure that you keep coming back to tackle your goals with a smile on your face. It also makes putting in the hard yards a little easier.


If you want to burn fat quickly, then learning how much to eat, and how to keep your

nutritional intake as balanced as possible to allow you to enjoy life, whilst still achieving your goals, is key. Eating too little, cutting calories and food groups are easy ways to miss out on achieving your goals.

Understanding what your individual requirements are and having a structured program to follow will be what see you burn fat, increase lean muscle mass and feel like new and improved version of yourself.

Balanced Programming 

We don’t focus on one method to help you achieve your health and fitness goals.

We utilize numerous different training methodologies including,

High Intensity Interval Training –  This type of training gets and keeps your heart

rate up and burns more fat in less time. It has also shown to provide continued heart rate and fat burning stimulus even AFTER the workouts were completed.

Resistance/Strength Training – an effective way to change your body into a fat-burning machine is to add more muscle. Muscle mass for most people is usually low which means the fat-burning power of your metabolism is low.

Powerlifting – heavy lifting via the big, all body movements like deadlifting and squatting is a great way to burn energy, alleviate stress and feel like you’re truly expressing your inner warrior, as well as a great way to burn fat.

Endurance – Many think of CrossFit as purely heavy lifting and sprint workouts. Our program makes sure you have a focus on long cycle pieces, as well as the other methods above, in order to maintain overall fitness, reduce injury and help with fat loss.


If you can put together a balance of these factors, you’ll be well on your way to achieving your goals.
